OUR FIBERS: We source our fibers as much as we can from within the USA. We look for the best quality and price combination. We look for a soft hand, a lofty yarn that retains nice stitch definition. By sourcing directy from a mill we are able to k eep our costs down and our environmental footprint small . Our current “Rustic” range includes a 100% wool in super bulky, worsted and sport weights and a wool / nylon blend in a sock weight and lace weight yarn. Our sport weight 100% wool is truly our workhorse yarn and is our most popular offering Select retail stores also offer a custom milled merino/silk blend in fingering, sport and worsted. This new yarn is a collaborative project between myself and Jeane DeCoster of Elemental Affects. It is one of very few Merino/Silk blends that is truly made in the USA, in keeping with my goal to have a small footprint and source within the USA as much as feasible. It is available in 3-ply worsted, sport and fingering weights, it is a beautiful, lofty, strong, lusterous and practically pill-free yarn! Lastly as part of our “Refined” range we offer a dreamy light-as-air alpaca/silk lace. Learn more about our yarns. OUR COLORS: We currently offer three color ranges, Flux, Ombré and Semi-Solid. Ombré and Flux are available in thirty-two and eleven colorways respectively. We offer another twenty-five Semi-solid colors in palettes that easily coordinate with our gradient yarns. We use locally manufactured acid dyes throughout as they offer the greatest consistency and are gentle to our environment. To acheive the long color runs in our Flux and Ombré yarns we have developed our own dyeing process. Though labor intensive, the hands-on nature of the process allows us to ensure an even consistency in the yarn and colors over multiple dye lots. Our method also means that though our yarns will match very well from one dye lot to the next, no two balls of yarn will ever be the same. This is most apparent in our “Flux” range where the knitted fabric will have painterly variations that are made more dramatic as the stitch pattern simplifies. Our Semi-Solids are kettle dyed which offers a depth and subtlety of color to match our gradient yarns. We also offer a growing range of downloadable knitting patterns showcasing our assortment of yarns. What people are saying: “The yarn is nice to work with, woolly and not too scratchy, although it is definitely a bit rustic (which is not a bad thing IMO). I like the consistency of the stripes, and the colours do line up perfectly when knitting from one ball to the next.” Emma in Ontario, Canada “Your designs are just excellent, and the new yarn is so gorgeous!” Faith in New York City
